A true life story of a young lady who battled with oral cancer. Mariati had bravely agreed to share her story in the Strait Times to warn patients of the danger of cancer lurking inside the mouth which can be detected late if not aware of the symptoms and hence had to suffer the complications of extensive surgery and chemoradiotherapy treatment. This article was the run up to the Mouth Cancer Awareness week in November. Mariati had unfortunately succumbed to her illness and this article is posted in memory of her. |
